Every month we share the impact our customers have made through their use of CarbonBetter energy, which is included in every Provision clean energy plan. This update reflects the impact our customers made in May 2021. We’re honored to be able to provide affordable energy that makes a real difference.

It’s easy to contribute to the positive impact we make each month. All Provision energy plans include CarbonBetter energy, which helps you make a difference while you use energy at home. Our customers help fund clean energy generation through renewable energy certificates, offset carbon through carbon credits, and plant trees to aid in reforestation and increase our natural carbon-capturing capabilities. It’s never too late to start using your energy for good.
Featured CarbonBetter Project: Provision HQ Solar Panels
In May, we installed USA-made solar panels on the roof of our headquarters to reduce our load from the local grid. When supplied by the grid only, we are powered by a residual mix of fossil fuel fired generation, non-renewable, and renewable sources, but with our new solar panels, we will generate nearly three quarters of our office power from our own array.
We’ve taken our efficiency a step further by selecting a super efficient inverter and power optimizer that will generate up to 25% more energy. We’re excited to take this next step forward in reducing our demand for energy while supporting our utility’s long-term sustainability goals. We anticipate our new solar panels will supply about 71% of our total expected demand in year one.
The solar panels installed by Provision support Austin Energy in efficiently generating renewable energy thus driving the effort to reduce the energy strain on the local Austin grids and supporting a clean energy environment. We are proud to be making a difference and reducing our impact in the local Austin community.

Impact is calculated based on customers’ billings in the impact month, but planting, funding, and offsetting may not happen in that month.
